π Terms of use
Terms of use
Last updated: August 2026. These terms apply to the live Sanctuary Gateshead pilot.
1. About Sanctuary
Sanctuary Community Depot operates a local services, Marketplace and reuse, membership, community-project and rewards platform. Dropzone is a product within the same platform but only published Dropzone features form part of the live customer offer.
2. Pilot status
Sanctuary is in a Gateshead pilot. Availability, service areas and catalogue items can change as real capacity changes. Public pages must distinguish live or pilot services from future plans and must not present demo content as real activity.
3. Accounts
You must provide accurate information, use your own authorised account and protect access to it. Household and dependent features require appropriate guardian responsibility. Accounts may be restricted for fraud, abuse, safeguarding concerns or serious breaches of these terms.
4. Services and bookings
Service requests are subject to scope, location, capacity and safety checks. Where a fixed price or quote is accepted, Sanctuary records the agreed commercial terms for that booking. Work outside the accepted scope may require a new quote. Regulated, specialist or unsafe work can be declined or referred elsewhere.
5. Collection, delivery and Route Credits
Flexible pooled routes and dedicated journeys are different products. One Route Credit covers one eligible standard stop on a pooled/flexible route unless the published plan says otherwise. Credits do not imply unlimited mileage, specialist transport, waste clearance, two-person moves or dedicated journeys, and launch Route Credits expire monthly.
6. Marketplace and reuse
Listings must be honest, lawful and describe the actual item or offer. Sanctuary may moderate, refuse or remove listings and may decline reuse intake. Sanctuary delivery charges are paid to Sanctuary through approved flows, not directly to a seller. Private peer-to-peer seller payouts are not a launch feature unless explicitly enabled under a later approved policy.
7. Memberships
Membership benefits are those shown in the published catalogue for the active plan. Membership does not guarantee unlimited services or delivery. Route Credits, Sanctuary Credits and any service benefit are separate entitlements. Annual memberships are not offered during the initial proof period unless the published catalogue changes.
8. Sanctuary Credits
SC are closed-loop reward points. They are not cash, are not withdrawable, cannot be sold by users and have no guaranteed cash value. Direct purchase of SC is disabled at launch. Earning and spending are limited to published Sanctuary uses.
9. Community projects
Public project totals and progress must be backed by real Sanctuary records. A project being displayed does not mean every target is fully funded or completed. Updates should distinguish allocated, spent and remaining amounts where those figures are published.
10. Payments and refunds
Card payments are handled by the configured payment provider. Sanctuary does not rely on a browser success screen alone to mark a payment complete. Refunds or cancellations follow the terms shown for the relevant service or membership and the underlying payment record.
11. Safety and conduct
Do not use Sanctuary for unlawful, dangerous, deceptive or harassing activity. Do not use collection or Marketplace flows as a route for hazardous goods, stolen goods or prohibited waste. Follow any safety boundaries shown for a service or event.
12. Changes and contact
These terms may be updated as the pilot develops. Material changes should be reflected on this page. Use Contact & Help for questions about a booking, account, privacy issue or these terms.
