❓ Help & FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Straight answers about what Sanctuary actually offers during the Gateshead pilot.
Services
- How do Sanctuary services work?
- Browse a live service, check your area, then submit the details needed for that job. Some jobs can use a published fixed price; others need a quote before anything is confirmed.
- Do I need a membership?
- No. The Free plan can use Sanctuary services and Marketplace. Paid memberships are optional and are aimed at people who expect to use routes, rewards or member benefits more regularly.
- What work will Sanctuary not do?
- Regulated, specialist, structurally risky, hazardous or otherwise unsuitable work can be declined or referred. The public service boundary is part of the product, not a promise to do every type of job.
Collection & delivery
- What is the difference between a pooled route and a dedicated journey?
- Pooled or flexible routes group compatible stops in the same area to keep costs lower. Dedicated journeys reserve a separate visit and therefore use different pricing.
- What is a Route Credit?
- One Route Credit covers one eligible standard stop on a pooled or flexible Sanctuary route. A collection is normally one stop and a later delivery is normally another. It does not automatically cover dedicated journeys, specialist or bulky transport, waste, long distance or extra labour.
- Do Route Credits roll over?
- Not at launch. They expire monthly so a membership cannot build up an unlimited future delivery liability.
Marketplace & reuse
- What can I do in Marketplace?
- Offer useful items, browse what is genuinely available, post a Looking For request and use reuse or Sanctuary collection flows where those options are enabled.
- Can a seller ask me to pay a Sanctuary delivery fee directly?
- No. A Sanctuary delivery charge is paid to Sanctuary through an approved Sanctuary flow, not directly to a seller. Report listings or messages that try to move delivery payment outside the platform.
- Does Sanctuary collect rubbish?
- No. Donate for Reuse is for items accepted for genuine reuse or restoration. It is not a general waste-clearance service.
Memberships
- What membership tiers exist?
- The published launch catalogue contains Free, Supporter, Sanctuary+, Sanctuary+ Move and Sanctuary+ Household. The membership page shows the current price and allowances from the live catalogue.
- Are Route Credits the same as SC?
- No. Route Credits are route-stop entitlements. Sanctuary Credits are closed-loop reward points. They are deliberately separate.
- Can I buy an annual plan?
- Not during the initial proof period. Annual plans stay off until real redemption, route density, cost and churn data justify them.
Sanctuary Credits
- Are Sanctuary Credits money?
- No. SC are closed-loop reward points. They are not cash, are not withdrawable and are not an investment.
- Can SC pay another Marketplace seller?
- No. SC are not a private-sale currency or a substitute for seller payouts.
- Where can I spend SC?
- Only on uses that Sanctuary has actually published and enabled. The site does not treat planned future perks as live benefits.
Community projects
- Are project totals real?
- They must be. Sanctuary's public-project rule forbids fake progress. Published totals and progress are backed by real project and ledger records.
- Why might the Projects page be empty?
- Because an honest empty state is better than fictional activity. Projects appear publicly only after an approved target and real records exist.
Gateshead pilot
- Where is Sanctuary starting?
- The initial pilot is Gateshead, with Teams Hub on Rose Street as the first verified physical Town Square anchor.
- Why are some features hidden?
- Sanctuary uses staged launch flags so unfinished or future products do not appear as if they are already available.
- How do I get help with my account or a booking?
- Use Contact & Help. For an existing request, sign in first so you can review the relevant account record.
