Reuse & Redistribution

Keep useful local furniture, tools, bikes and materials in circulation instead of wasting them.

The problem

Useful things leave circulation because people do not have a simple, lawful way to pass them on locally.

The idea

Route surplus through existing Exchange and Marketplace gates so residents offer what they have without choosing an internal product name.

The plan

Connect I HAVE item/materials/equipment offers to public project and organisation needs. Keep waste, hazardous and controlled materials out.

Where we are

Developing on the existing Exchange architecture. This is not a new waste service and not a claim of completed redistribution volume.

The story

A Gateshead reuse loop over canonical Exchange: furniture, household goods, bikes, tools, equipment, building materials and safe reusable surplus. Unknown waste and controlled waste stay blocked.

What we already have

  • Canonical Exchange / Marketplace offer routes
  • Legal gates for reusable materials and used goods
