Community Food & Essentials Delivery
Explore practical delivery support so people collecting food and essentials are not left carrying unsafe loads.
The problem
Collecting community food and household essentials can mean carrying more than a person can safely manage, especially without a car.
The idea
Use existing Sanctuary capacity, volunteer drivers and hub routing to test grouped collection and delivery windows — with safeguarding and privacy first.
The plan
Map collection points, grouped delivery, volunteer driver capacity, hub routing, recipient windows, proof of delivery where appropriate, and privacy rules. Do not treat this as a live courier service until those pieces are verified.
Where we are
Idea. No operational food-delivery service is claimed. Existing food-support organisations remain the providers of food.
The story
People collecting emergency food and household essentials can be expected to carry extremely heavy quantities. This project explores whether Sanctuary logistics, volunteer capacity and local routing can help — it is not an operational food-delivery service yet.
What we already have
- Canonical Capacity and Services routing
- Public organisation food-support listings on Town Square
