Dedicated Mobile Depot Van
Acquire the practical van that lets one Sanctuary route combine jobs, collections, deliveries, bikes, resources and events.
The problem
The current operating model is constrained by vehicle capacity. Larger collections, bikes, grouped deliveries and mixed service routes need a practical dedicated vehicle.
The idea
Acquire a suitable medium van as a moving Sanctuary capacity node rather than paying for a warehouse or large fixed infrastructure before throughput proves the need.
The plan
Target a suitable used medium van, then keep the initial fit-out modular. Boxes or zones cover core tools, bike/repair kit, PPE, clean collection items and event equipment. Larger or specialist vehicles remain later evidence-gated upgrades.
Where we are
Ready as the first major capital build. The Town Square planning model uses a £4,000–£8,000 vehicle range and a £6,000 working target. No contribution is recorded yet.
The story
The Mobile Depot is the first major capital asset because one vehicle can serve several Sanctuary branches at once. It moves tools, Exchange items, donated bikes, small furniture, community resources and event equipment while creating route density.
What we already have
- A defined Mobile Depot operating model
- Grouped route logic across Services, Exchange and community movement
- An existing vehicle that can prove early route demand before the van is acquired
